Enlistment Commemoration

Three plaques were unveiled on August 17th, 2014 commemorating the start of enlistment for the First World War. The CLB Armoury became the recruiting centre for the war as well as Regimental Headquarters for the Newfoundland Regiment.

The pictures shown to the right are from the parade that day.

121st Anniversary of the CLB

The CLB was founded in England in 1891. It was established in Newfoundland in 1892, making it one of the oldest youth organizations in Canada.

These pictures were taken of the band during the 121st Anniversary Church Service at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist.

Evening Concert in Carbonear

The band often travels away from metro St. John's to perform for our fellow CLB members. Such a trip is not complete without an evening concert.

These concerts allow the band to display the full scope of the its repertoire. From jazz and swing to soulful contemporary pieces, it's a welcome change for youth who otherwise would not see this side of the band.

Goverment House Garden Party

Annually, the Lieutenant Governor hosts the Government House Garden Party. The public is invited to meet Their Honours and be entertained by groups such as The CLB Band, The Signal Hill Tattoo, the RNC Mounted Unit and the Celtic Fiddlers. Refreshments are served by local Girl Guides.
